The Pikes Peak Chapter hosted the RMR Seminar 2016, “Stitching in a Woodland Garden…where needle, thread and friends meet”, August 25-27, 2016. The Marriott hotel in Colorado Springs nestled in the foothills was the ideal venue for the seminar.
Ninety-five participants as well as 8 teachers were in attendance. Leslie Gagliardi, EGA National President was also in attendance. Throughout the seminar, Leslie interacted with each of the classes asking for ideas and input.
The seminar started with the region meeting on Thursday and two one-day pre-seminar classes. The opening
banquet featured the woodland garden centerpieces. Entertainment was provided by a barbershop quartet.
Activities during the seminar included a silent auction, book swap, boutique, exhibit of 100 needlework pieces, and a special “meet and greet” with Charlotte Miller, a
long time designer and teacher now retired. And, of course, the always fun Merchandise Night.
The seminar concluded on Friday night with the closing banquet in the pavilion tent and a rousing live auction.
A video was made of the seminar and you can view it thru the end of October using the following link RMR 2016 Seminar Video or from the region website at www.rmrega.org. Contact Becky Autry at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like a copy of the video on DVD.
See you next year at the RMR 2017 Retreat in Taos, NM.
